Last night I catered an event for the Offbeats Vocal Jazz Ensemble at the very cool Keyon Hall in West Seattle.  I made bruschetta and desserts, which they resold for fundraising.

Menu:   Bruschette:

• Sweet Italian Sausage & Peppers
• Fresh Chevre with Preserved Tomatoes
• Caponata of Cannelini Beans, Fennel, Taggia Olives, Capers
• Roasted Squash Puree

Desserts:

• Lemon Ginger Cake

• Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bagels

I had the best breakfast bagel yesterday! It sounds kind of silly, but being a native east-coaster, I love good bagels, and I love breakfast.  Anyway, the amazing breakfast bagel can be found at Cafe Pettirossa on 11th, just off Pike on Capital Hill.  I got the egg, spinach, artichoke, and parmesan - it tasted like classic artichoke/spinach dip (a guilty pleasure), and it was really good. They also expertly poured Caffe Vita espresso (located right around the corner).  I didn't ask where they got their bagels, but I'll assume it was Bagel Deli on 15th - they have the best I've tasted in Seattle.  I'll be back!

Turkey Day

Well, I've realized that I'm not very good at updating my blog -this is my first real entry and it is a few days late.  Our Thanksgiving was nice - a good day for relaxing.  Lucky for Justin and I, his mom and sister did most of the cooking - everything was fantastic!  This was my contribution - I couldn't decide what to make so I just made a Thanksgiving Melange.  It turned out really well - roasted baby cauliflowers and romanesco, cipollini onions, roasted root veggies, swiss chard, chanterelles!
